FORSAKEN LEADERS.
I grew up to the regular saying-"Children are the Leaders of Tomorrow". I used to envision what it would feel like to actually lead a Country, that is Great and Beautiful like Nigeria. Or what it would actually look like to see someone in my age group,or a little bit older than I was, rule the Country. But unfortunately, those were just day dreams of a passionate Child, that had no understanding as of then, how People that ought to be Father figures, treat their own Future Leaders.
A Great Man I know once said- " we love Nigeria not because it is great, but because it is our own" ,A very key food for thought I must admit. But then there are a lot of questions that keeps running through my mind of recent. Do we really love Nigeria? Are the Youths truly Leaders of Tomorrow? And will our selfish, older Politicians ever let us posses the right to Leadership?
Truth is,We as Youths are to be blamed for the deteriorating Economy and bad leadership we are experiencing. It is unfortunate,we do not realize our rights to get involved in the political affairs of the Country. If only we would not sit idle and let Tyrants take hold of the Nation , Nigeria would be The dream Land we all hope for.
However,it is unfortunate, that the Youths that are supposed to stand up tall, and fight for their rights by taking right appropriate actions, just sit around and play cards on the same table with the Leaders that cause us pains. Instead of becoming Political heroes, you choose to become Political thugs. How then,do you think those Tyrants would ever let us rule. It is a pity we no longer have our rights to Leadership, because some shallow minded Youths, exchanged it for a plate of porridge.
How then,do you think you can come out with your head's held up hight to request power. We lost that right when we started dancing to the beat of their drums. Why can't a 35 years old rule? Must it be an 80 year old. The slogan "Not too young to run" was introduced sometime in the year 2017,but are the Youths truly getting involved? Obviously not. Forgive me to say but the oil of leadership on our head has been sold out. And the only way to get it back,is when we start doing the right thing.
The only way out of our dilemma, is by saying No to all their evil and selfish demands and standing by our words. The Leaders up there you are supporting,do not have our good interest at heart. If They did,you won't be sent to disturb an election, you won't be made a Thug, your Friend's and Family won't be killed in a Political war. Your towns won't be raided by Herdsmen. Enough of sitting back and just lamenting, you can choose to make a difference right now.
I don't want to perish as a forsaken Leader, and I am sure you would not want that too. Let us get involved with the "Not too Young to run" campaign. The power of the Nation lies on our Shoulders,if only every Youth would see what He or She possesses. Nigeria is our own; selfish, corrupt Tyrants have no right whatsoever to make it a Death Land,War Zone and a Desert. We must make a decision; To either remain forsaken or choose to make a change,so that the Generations after Us would sing our legacy. Which would you prefer. Think about it.

THE KSU MEDICAL SAGA.
So,there is a new saga in the Country presently, apart from the Debate our very own President fumbled at *LOL* . The Students of Kogi State University; Medical students to be precise, has asked the Government to convert the Federal Medical Centre Lokoja, into a Teaching Hospital.
What were These Students thinking actually!? For Christ sake,we all have to be sincere with ourselves. There is no way a less standard Hospital, with no adequate facilities like FMC Lokoja should ever be made a Teaching Hospital. A Teaching Hospital is where Medical Students practice the theory aspects of all they have been taught, and FMC Lokoja is a no way option for that.
However, what these Students should be asking for is the accreditation of the Department of Medicine and Surgery. They should be pleading instead, that their course is properly accredited. Instead of asking for an option we all know would never be possible. And no body should give me reasons like I don't know what these Students are going through. That's a lame excuse, they knew what they were signing in for when They still picked the Institution knowing fully well it had no proper accreditation.
A better option They would have seeked for, would have been the building of a Teaching Hospital by the Government;simple. That is what They should be fighting for!! Do you know how many lives I have witnessed that was lost in my short visit to The Federal Medical Centre Lokoja; a lot. Reason is; the Hospital is not standard enough. Yes I just said that. They deserve better,so They should ask for better.
Plus,we know the Government would never grant their heart desires at a time like this. My apologies though, but we All will agree that the Government of His Excellence Yahaya Bello has failed a lot, and this request of theirs is just another "MISSION IMPOSSIBLE".
Dear Medical students of KSU,I feel your plight, but stop asking for the impossible. You deserve the best, work towards achieving the best. Selah.

WOMEN IN POLITICS.
Women are the most essential creatures on Earth. They spice up the day to day activities that takes place all over the World( I am not saying this because I am a woman also*winks*),but that is the fact.
Every Woman has the power to impact her sorounding,to motivate and to beautify situations no matter how ugly it might look. Women have the power of intellectuality, and also the power to control and manage circumstances to the fullest of their capability. Now the big question is; WHY DON'T THEY APPLY ALL OF THESE QUALITIES WHEN IT COMES TO POLITICS?
Nigeria is one of the Countries after India, with the lowest percentage of Women in politics. A total of 6.7 percent(in both elective and appointive positions) has been recorded so far. This however,is below the Global average of 22.5 percent required. Also, the Africa regional average of 23.4 percent and West Africa sub region average of 15 percent. Sorry if I bore you with the percentage talk and all, just trying to make a point. Now,we all would agree that the above mentioned statistic, is a very low one. Women tend to forget that they also have equal rights in politics just as the Men do.
However,I tend to understand the fear of a typical Nigerian Woman. She fears certain questions and comments The people might say and ask about Her. She fears how her Family would look at her. She fears what Her Husband's reaction would be if She ever brought up the idea of going into politics,or even casting her votes. The idea "only men were born to rule" injected by Clans of Men,has belittled Her self worth. If only She knew that the premise those men put up,is a big lie because they know the power of a Woman and what She can do( the right things of course),if She ever gets in power.
Dear Women, why listen to the Ideologies of those Men,when there are better reasons why you as a Woman should step out and accept your equality in Politics. Enough of you being passive when it comes to political matters. It is high time, every woman becomes an active participant. It is not necessary that you have to start from the top like running for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; No. You can start with the position of your state local government Chairperson and other relevant positions that can be held.
The most important way of getting involved is having your PVC; oh yes I said that. Vote for the right candidate. Enough of the lame excuse of you not going out to cast your votes because you don't want to leave the kids alone at home. Or that your business at the Market is more important to you than your right to vote. Enough of you being passive in The Nigeria politics. We can't all be "players" in the political games, but We all have rights to determine whatever goes on in power. It is not only a civil right, it is our fundamental rights.
The 2019 election is around the corner, why don't you decide to become an active participant. Go out and vote, for it is your right. Dear Women, you hold the key to the success of the Country's politics;GET INVOLVED.

WHY BE SOMEONE ELSE???
Ever really thought of how STRESSFUL it can get trying to be someone else when you ought to be yourself? It is one of the most demanding challenge that can ever be met up to.
Why be someone else when you were made to be you? Why act like someone else, talk like someone else, eat like someone else or even try to exhibit the character of someone else? I am not saying you shouldn't admire people though and love what they do and how they do it,and even want to emulate them. The point I am trying to make is; NEVER CHANGE WHO YOU ARE BECAUSE YOU WANT TO BE THEM- simple .
However it may look or tend to appear, those people you would trade everything (including yourself) to be like, have hidden problems they do not share to the general public or even to you in person. We've all got hidden stories;theirs might have triggered them to becoming what they are. Therefore, trying to be like them or live like them simply means you are living their personal stories when you ought to be living yours.
Still wondering why your close friends can't stand you for long, why your relationships don't work out either and why you can't get that job you've always wished for? I will tell you the plain truth( even if it might not sink in well enough). Reason is,they all know you are faking to be someone else and no body wants to get involved with someone that cannot be real and love themselves for who they are.
There is a huge difference between you admiring someone and you living like someone else. Why be someone else, when you can be yourself in a very unique, different way. Be you, talk you,eat you, laugh you. The World is too busy to keep hanging around fake people (we've seen enough already). So get real, and get busy turning yourself into someone you would also admire, and only then would you get the respect you've always craved for.

The Nigerian Education System
Have you ever wondered
why the Nigerian educational sector is still backwards and forgive me to say very outdated? Well I have and I think about it on a daily basis, not knowing who to blame. Many Nigerian's blame the Federal Government, some the Lecturers,Others the Students ( to be truthful I don't know how this is the students fault though).
Kofi Annan(blessed memory),a Man of peace in a World of war, described knowledge as power, information as liberating and Education as premise of progress. One of the best definitions given by the Greatest Man of Honor. Our Educational sector in Nigeria is not one looked upon with pride but rather with sacarsm;and the most alarming fact is that we are not the only ones that look at it that way,the whole World does too.
Dating back to the year 1948, when the first Nigerian University ( University of Ibadan) was established till the present age, there is only one problem that has and "might" always be associated with Nigeria's Education and that is poor funding from the Federal Government and parastatal's at large. This however has led to unforseen delays and prolongment in academic sessions, causing students to spend extra years in School, doing nothing but wait for the Government and University Academic bodies to come to terms with each other's agreement.
On the 4th of November 2018,We all remember vividly how the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) decided to proceed on an indefinite strike due to the alleged inability of the Federal Government to fulfill the agreement signed with the Union in 2009 . Now, this is a story I do not find funny and I am sure many Parents and Students are not finding humor in this anymore. It has now become the habit of the people who claim to have our interest at heart to embark on unnecessary strikes because of their selfish interest, even if the Students and Lecturers welfare is used as a cover up( too bad). Don't get me wrong,I am not totally blaming the Academic Union,I am only stating a fact.
Now to the Federal Government. It is very obvious that they do not have our Education at heart. Well I am not surprised;I mean, coming from Leaders who majority of them never went to School, there is nothing more to expect because they would never know the value of making Educational budget a first priority. How would you justify the fact that only 7%(#455.41billion) was allocated to fund education in the 2017 budget. The same percentage was repeated in 2018 and only a little increment (#462.2billion) in the 2019 budget just reviewed by the President, which has no difference with the former 7%. How poor this is and very low standard compared to the UNESCO 25% standard required.
I look with pity because our Youths are lost( a sheep without its shepherd is lost!!) We do not have good Shepherds as Leaders. Our Youths are driven to commit crimes because instead of being in School, the Government has forced Us out of School due to the unnecessary strike actions they make the Academic Unions to carry out. So why blame We the Youths Dear Leaders; BLAME YOURSELVES. Listen, not everybody can afford going to the Private Universities they send their Children to,not every Nigerian can afford paying School fees if our Federal Universities are privatised. All we want is for our Education fund to be adequately given and pay the allowances the Lecturers are asking For.
What baffles me the
most is that they take Us out of School just because they need thugs for their various elections around the corner. And the overall most annoying aspect is that our Academic Unions supports them whole heartedly through their plans. One question I then tend to ask is;WHO ARE THEY PLAYING,US OR THEMSELVES? We want our Education improved,we want our rights to Education ( and a good one at that) back,we want good Lecturers. Enough of playing with our future, enough of the unnecessary paparazzi because you all want to play politics.
Education is not a political game and should not be made one; Education is a true deal.

New Year's Budget
Welcome to the year 2019!!! Okay,I know with the new year approaching and everything else, we all have made plans or rather should I say set up budgets on how the year is going to start and possibly end(even the Government made known theirs already).
Here is one amazing but truthful fact; it is not about making the budgets that matters,it is rather about how to make it work and bring it to a realization or should I say a fulfilment.
On my blog today,I am going to be telling you little secrets to achieving your budgets and goals too.
PS:if you haven't made any plans for the year yet, please take a pen and paper and begin writing them down!!!
HOW TO ACHIEVE BUDGETS:
1)MAKE A PLAN: In order to achieve budgets or set goals you must know what your budgets are,you must also write them down and not just speak them on your mind only.
2)SAVE UP FOR IT: Yes!!! You got to save up;even if your budgets are not Money oriented (which is never possible), learn to save. Saving is one of the easiest ways to goal realizations.
3)WORK TOWARDS IT: You can't just write it down and read it up like it were some novel everyday, you have and must work towards it(and I mean hard work).
4) POSITIVE VIBES:Yeah yeah... Lol, you have to keep positive/good companies. People that share in the same mind set as you and even if they don't share, they are good supporters.
Work towards this four goals I did tell you about and I promise you would be shocked at how well you would achieve your budgets/goals in a short period of time.
Happy2019!!! You can drop your comments on the comment section or email me at-aiyeruseun@gmail.com. Criticism is allowed.
Thank you.
